Need Pension Help?

Schild_Pension_Wöhlerstrasse_1You or a loved one may recall having a pension benefit but didn’t claim it or lost track of it.

There are a couple of resources to help you, or you help your loved one, track it down.

The Pension Benefit Guarantee Corporation (PBGC) has a tool on their site to find an unclaimed pension. The site includes help if you do, or don’t, find it. The site also has links to additional resources for help.

If you need help with a pension, Pension Help America may be a resource for you too.

Yes, pension coverage for private workers have gone down – which has lead to some unclaimed pensions by people over the years who forgot about having eligibility at one time, because of either changing employers from one who had pension coverage to one that didn’t; or the employer themselves changing from defined benefit retirement plans (pensions) to a defined contribution plan (commonly called 401k). Fortunately, there are resources to help find out about pensions one, or a loved one, may be eligible for. Happy hunting!
